I have always done proof reading for the companies I work for and it was to be standard procedure in all design studios. In the past few years, however, it seems that companies and writers are happy to sent off their artwork to print without this important check. It is impossible to check your own work; if you have been working on a project for weeks or even days, your brain will often overwrite the mistake. As someone who has had a classic education where spelling and grammar were as important as creativity and mathematics, I can easily spot a spelling or grammar mistake. While I appreciate that language is a constantly evolving organism, I think the printed page should still project intelligence and integrity. My graphic design experience adds another level; I can spot layout errors as well. For design projects, books or websites, contact me for a quote.
